This 10” KC brake set was made standard by the ARA for cars weighing between 37,000 and 58,000 pounds January 1, 1915. This was used on new box and clear bottom cars until September 1, 1933 when the AB brake was made standard. KC brakes were outlawed for interchange January 1, 1945.
